Government officials have unveiled a new surveillance hub designed to give the Ogun State Security Network (Amotekun) a "technological edge" over kidnappers and robbers. The Secretary to the State Government, Tokunbo Talabi, noted that this move will help residents sleep with both eyes closed.
Key Highlights of the New System:
Proactive Security: By using cameras, Amotekun moves from being "reactive" (responding after the damage is done) to "proactive" (stopping trouble before it escalates).
Future Expansion: Currently, there are three main surveillance centers, but the government plans to install these cameras across the entire state to ensure every corner is covered.
Teamwork is Key: The government emphasized that Amotekun will share this camera data with the Police and the Military. If the cameras spot a situation that is too big for one group, other agencies will be called in instantly.
