Following his recent defection to the APC, Governor Umo Eno held a briefing with President Bola Tinubu on Thursday.
The Governor shared photos of the meeting and reassured the public that his primary goal is the welfare of Akwa Ibom citizens.
Governor Eno officially joined the APC in June 2025, ending his long-standing ties with the PDP. He spent months consulting with stakeholders before making the final decision.
The Governor stated that the move was necessary to ensure Akwa Ibom is "at the center" of national politics, which helps secure more support and opportunities from the Federal Government.
He highlighted his deep admiration for President Tinubu’s leadership as a major reason for joining the party.
