A Catholic priest, Fr. Kelvin Ugwu, has joined thousands of Nigerians in reacting to Daniel Bwala’s controversial appearance on Al Jazeera.
The priest accused the presidential aide of lacking focus and trying to use a global platform to settle local political scores with the former Labour Party candidate, Peter Obi.
After the interview went viral, Bwala criticized the professionalism of the news network. However, Fr. Ugwu believes Bwala was simply upset because the host didn't let him talk about his rivals.
The priest pointed out that in a follow-up chat with Daddy Freeze, Bwala spent significant time on Peter Obi, which Fr. Ugwu says exposes his true intentions.
The original program was meant to examine President Bola Tinubu’s performance, but many viewers felt the discussion became sidetracked by personal politics.
The priest’s comments have added fuel to an ongoing debate about how Nigerian officials represent the country on international media platforms.
