Since Nigeria returned to democracy in 1999, a select group of politicians has managed to keep their seats for decades.
These veteran legislators have become the "institutional memory" of the National Assembly, serving through multiple presidencies and policy shifts.
Only a few lawmakers, such as Ahmad Lawan and Nicholas Mutu, have served continuously since the very start of the Fourth Republic in 1999.
Many others joined in 2003 or 2007 and have never looked back, winning re-election every four years.
Some leaders, like Aminu Tambuwal and Ali Ndume, have spent time in both the House of Representatives and the Senate.
The list includes current high-ranking officials like Speaker Abbas Tajudeen, proving that longevity often leads to top leadership positions.
