During a high-level health summit at the State House, the Eze Ogbunechendo of Ezema Olo Kingdom, Dr. Lawrence Agubuzu, hijacked the proceedings to address the fate of Nnamdi Kanu.
He argued that Nigeria cannot truly progress until the government tells itself the truth about the situation in the South-East.
Nnamdi Kanu was recently sentenced to life imprisonment in November 2025 on terrorism-related charges and is currently held in a Sokoto prison.
The monarch questioned why the Ooni of Ife is allegedly planning to honor Sunday Igboho (a South-West activist) while Kanu remains behind bars for similar agitations.
He told President Tinubu that "the ball stops at your court," urging him to act before the situation with the region's youth gets even worse.
While the summit was originally meant to discuss health reforms and food banks, the monarch’s speech shifted the focus to the urgent need for political stability.
