General Christopher Musa has cleared the air on the presence of U.S. military personnel, stating that Nigeria is simply collaborating with a friendly nation to end insecurity.
He compared the move to how Nigeria sends its own soldiers to help countries like Liberia and Tanzania.
Nigeria is looking to benefit from America’s superior military tech. The focus is on training Nigerian soldiers and using U.S. satellites to monitor terrorist movements.
The Minister emphasized that this is a temporary arrangement. "Once we finish the objective, they have to move," he stated, ensuring that Nigeria’s independence is respected.
The Minister explained that no country can fight modern terrorism alone, especially with the current instability across West Africa.
The government insists that the U.S. forces understand they are guests and must follow the clear terms set by the Nigerian government.
