Despite the emotional and physical toll of a recent fatal car crash, Anthony Joshua is working toward a boxing comeback.
His promoter, Eddie Hearn, believes the British star could return to the ring as early as July or late summer 2026.
Joshua is currently focused on "rehabilitation protocol," specifically targeting rib injuries sustained during the December accident in Nigeria.
The original plan to fight Tyson Fury in August has been pushed back. Hearn says Joshua is "resting and preparing" but is not yet physically ready for a full training camp.
The "Gypsy King" expressed his sympathy, stating he has no interest in fighting Joshua while his rival is "in a bad place" and recovering from the loss of his close friends.
While Joshua’s immediate future remains uncertain, his team is looking at potential July dates for a return fight, provided his body responds well to the ongoing physical therapy.
