Following a political split in Adamawa State, Governor Umaru Fintiri has submitted three fresh names to the state legislature to replace commissioners who refused to join the APC.
The move comes as the Governor reorganizes his cabinet after his recent defection from the PDP.
The Governor is replacing three key officials. While Adamu Atiku Abubakar (Works & Energy) is the most famous to leave, the offices for Livestock Development and Justice are also being filled with new talent.
The nominees—Sali Idris, Muhammed Suleiman, and Chubado Mohammed—come from different local government areas (Maiha, Mubi North, and Jada) to ensure the state is well-represented.
The House of Assembly has directed the Clerk to notify the candidates to appear for their official screening next Monday to ensure the government can get back to full strength quickly.
By nominating new commissioners just days after the resignations, Governor Fintiri is showing that his transition to the APC is final and that he is building a team ready to support his new political path.
