FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has promised a new era of transparent governance for the people of Abuja.
During an appreciation tour following the February 21 Area Council polls, the Minister declared that the days of politicians "telling stories" to get votes are over.
Wike explained that his style of leadership involves leaving the office to find out exactly what residents need, which he claims is a direct mandate from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Because the AMAC stakeholders helped secure victory for the administration’s allies, Wike stated that he is now obligated to deliver on infrastructure and social projects.
The Minister urged voters to hold leaders accountable, saying residents should never again allow themselves to be used by those who provide no results after the election.
By visiting areas like Apo and AMAC personally, Wike is signaling that the FCT administration intends to be more accessible and responsive to the needs of the common man.
