The leadership tussle within the PDP has taken a new turn as the National Caretaker Working Committee (NCWC), supported by Nyesom Wike, claims total control over the party's future.
They are urging all members to stop the "endless lawsuits" and unite under their banner to defeat the APC in 2027.
The faction insists that because of the Appeal Court's decision, any candidate presented by the "other side" for the 2027 elections would be considered illegal.
The committee has already successfully held small-scale elections (congresses) in various states to prove they are the ones actually running the party's daily affairs.
Chairman Mohammed asked the Board of Trustees (BoT) and other party elders to recognize the "rule of law" and stop the internal fighting that delays party activities.
Their main mission is to "rescue" the party and ensure it is in "good political health" to face off-season elections and the upcoming presidential race.
